Within the framework of the Belgian verification procedure developed by ENGIE Laborelec and SGS for biomass sustainability and eligibility for green power, independent regional risk assessments are carried out. Forest sustainability reports are prepared by SGS within the framework of the wood pellets suppliers assessment for the CWaPE in Wallonia. Those reports cover Sustainable Forest Management issues in a country or region of origin for woody biomass. Independent wood market reports are prepared by SGS within the framework of the wood pellets suppliers assessment for OVAM in Flanders. Those reports cover competition issues for woody biomass in a country or region of origin. All those reports are based on public information from official institutions and non-governmental organizations and are therefore not confidential.
